My name is Jen Geigley, and I knit, write, design knitting patterns, create graphics, and teach knitting classes. Lovely Des Moines, Iowa, is the wonderful place I proudly call home, and that's where I live and knit alongside my awesomely wild and wonderful family. Clean and modern knitwear designs are my passion, and I have a deep love and appreciation for simple yet stylish knits that are both easy to wear and versatile for everyday life.

My designs have been published in Vogue Knitting, Knit Simple Magazine, Noro Magazine, Knitsy Magazine and Rowan Yarns / Quail Studios publications. I have self-published knitwear patterns online since 2010, when I posted the Gaptastic cowl on Ravelry and it quickly became one of the most knitted projects on the site.

I have written and self-published six knitting books, designed a collection for Modern Daily Knitting’s Field Guide No. 12, and created books and patterns for various companies including Rowan Yarns, Quail Studio, Madelinetosh, Farm & Fiber Knits, Lion Brand Yarns, Blue Sky Fibers, Knit Collage, Jimmy Beans Wool, Hedgehog Fibers, Purl Soho, La Bien Aimee, and more.

I have a deep love for teaching others to knit and am truly passionate about sharing this wonderful hobby with those around me. I currently teach at several junior high and high schools throughout my city, engaging with students who are eager to learn. Although I also enjoy teaching adults, my heart really lies in passing on the joy and satisfaction of knitting to younger generations. I also teach a class called Art Spectrums at the Des Moines Art Center. This class is a free program for children and teens on the autism spectrum. In my spare time, I find great pleasure in visiting art museums, watching live music, and immersing myself in the captivating sounds of alt, metal, and punk rock music.
